Hi.
Update: 05/5/2021
Love Me in the Light will be available as a serial on Kindle Vella coming soon... :)
My aim is to write as my main profession. I tried my hand at it as early as age 17 with zero real understanding of what I was getting myself into and that went nowhere fast, thankfully. But today, I'm armed with much more knowledge and the ever improving talent to make it happen and stick to it.
English class. All throughout school (K-12), the class that was all about reading and writing stories allowed me to latch on to my imagination and helped me build the skills to use it in my own right. Because of that, reading became my reprieve and writing my escape wherever I was.
Fantasy is my favorite genre, high fantasy in a modern or historical setting to be specific. Crime fiction - like organized crime, vigilante justice, and murder mysteries - and dysfunctional family dramas are close seconds. A fantasy that has all of the elements from the close seconds would reign supreme. When it comes to what I most enjoy reading and writing, though, it really comes down to tropes. Badass & Child, Sibling Parent, Hurt/Comfort, Protector/Nurturer pairings - these elements recur heavily throughout a lot of my work and they easily become my favorite part of the stories I've enjoyed by others.
There are two skills I'd love to have, but have only sparsely attempted over the years: being multilingual and playing an instrument. Right now, my language radar goes back and forth between Tagalog and Hindi. And I have a keyboard in my room that unfortunately collects dust until I can afford a proper piano instructor because I finally accepted that I am not a 'learn by ear' kind of person. I understood the concept of crafting a story as early as 8 years old, writing stories with twists and sequels, but the art of creating music doesn't compute very well or at least, not as well as I'd like it to.
