After the day she had spend alone at the beach watching the waves roll and crash into the shore while the grey clouds amplified her already shitty mood Isabella felt wrung out.
She barely ate dinner with her family before she crawled into bed where she slept restlessly.
Once dawn had come she slipped out of bed as careful as she could to not wake Jonathan who had taken care of their little whirlwind Noemi. The little one was nearly five and so full of energy Isabella sometimes couldn't keep up without exacerbating her injuries.
Carefully she slipped on a pair of thermo Leggings and a long knitted sweater. It was her armor against the fall weather. The soft heaviness of the wool also helped keep her calm. Something she needed with the day that was ahead of her.
She looked into her daughters bedroom and smiled softly at the little bit of chaos that was always left there. Noemi was curled up on her side, one foot sticking out from her blanket.
Isabella smiled softly at the sight and carefully made her way downstairs.
Given the early hour she made herself a cup of tea and walked into the living room, holding the hot cup like a lifeline.
Once she had drunken the tea, she put the cup down and wrote a little note for Jonathan and Noemi.
I have an early doctors appointment. Breakfast waits in the oven for both of you. Have a great day at work and kindergarten.
I love you both XOXO
Leaving the note on the fridge she wrapped her poncho around herself, stepped into her boots and made her way to the doctors office.
She knew it would be a long day of tests of all kinds. Isabella didn't look forward to it but she wanted to know if she could keep the little life growing inside of her. If she was healthy enough to keep it healthy enough to bring it into the world or if she had to let it go and with it the wish for a second child.
