Snowflakes falling on the rotten oak tree,
Burry the past from whom I used flee;
Our future became a memory,
In which I no more long to be.

God, I loved you, I did, really,
But sadly you could not love me,
So I had to move on without thee.

I guess it's better this way; now I see,
That one-sided love always ends badly,
At least one of us could be happy,
That's how it goes, sadly.

I might be lost now, but at least I'm free,
Like the snowflakes falling on the old oak tree,
Where long ago you used to kiss me.
