deleted scene
script: Hannibal comes along the platform, pauses as the sunlight strikes his face. Looks up and smiles. Reveal Bedelia watching Hannibal from the platform, taking him in. Hannibal senses her gaze and meets her eye. She walks to meet him.
Bedelia: "How was Palermo?"
Hannibal: "I ran into Will Graham."
script: Hannibal keeps walking. Bedelia hesitates in her step, assimilating this information.
Bedelia: "Was it nice to see him?"
Hannibal: "It was nice... among other things. He knew where to look for me."
Bedelia: "You knew where he would look for you."
Hannibal: "He said he forgave me."
Bedelia: "Forgiveness is too great and difficult for one person. It requires two: the betrayer and the betrayed. Which one are you?"
Hannibal: "I'm vague on those details."
Bedelia: "Betrayal and forgiveness are... best seen as something akin to falling in love."
Hannibal: "You cannot control with respect to whom you fall in love."
Bedelia: "You are going to be caught. It has already been set into motion."
Hannibal: "Is that concern for your patient or concern for yourself?"
Bedelia: "I'm not concerned about me. I know exactly how I will navigate my way out of whatever it is I've gotten myself into. Do you?"
Hannibal: "I did."
Bedelia: "Where will Will Graham be looking for you next?"
Hannibal: "Someplace I can never go. Home."
Hannibal: "It's not healing to see your childhood home... but it helps you measure whether you are broken... how and why, assuming you want to know."
Will: "I want to know. Is this where construction began?"
Hannibal: "On my memory palace? Its door at the center of my mind. And here you are, feeling for the latch."
Will: "The spaces in your mind devoted to your earliest years... are they different than the other rooms? Are they different than this room?"
Hannibal: "This room holds sound and motion, great snakes wrestling and heaving in the dark. Other rooms are static scenes, fragmentary... like painted shards of glass."
Will: "Everything keyed to memories leading to... other memories. Rooms you... can't bring yourself to go. Nothing escapes from them that causes you any comfort."
Hannibal: "Screams fill some of those places, but the corridors do not echo screaming... because I hear music."
Will: "I'm a friend of Hannibal's."
Chiyoh: "He sent you?"
Will: "My name is Will Graham. I'm unarmed." (...) "You're keeping him like an animal."
Chiyoh: "I wouldn't do this to an animal."
Will: "What did he do?"
Chiyoh: "He ate her."
Will: "Mischa. How long has he been your prisoner?"
Chiyoh: "We have been each other's prisoner... for a very long time."
Will: "How ever did you find yourself in this situation?"
Chiyoh: "That question applies to both of us."
Will: "And the answer's probably the same. ..."
Chiyoh: "How do you know Hannibal?"
Will: "One could argue, intimately."
Chiyoh: "Nakama? It's a Japanese word for very close friends."
Will: "Yes, we were nakama. Last time I saw him, he, uh... he left me with a smile." (shows his scar)
Chiyoh: "All sorrows can be borne if you put them in a story. Tell me a story."
Chiyoh: "I accept what Hannibal has done. I understand why he has done it."
Will: "Mischa doesn't explain Hannibal. She doesn't... quantify what he does."
Chiyoh: "He does what was done to her."
Will: "How do you know it was your prisoner who killed Mischa?"
Chiyoh: "Hannibal told me so. Hannibal took someone from you. Are you here to take someone from him?"
Will (deleted line): "I've forgiven him his trespasses, as he's forgiven me."
Chiyoh (deleted line): "You're nakama. Aren't you alike?"
Will: "If I were like Hannibal... I would've killed you already. Cooked you... ate you... and fed what was left of you to him. That's what he would do."
Chiyoh: "You've given that some thought."
Will: "Do you know where he is?"
Chiyoh: "Why are you looking for him after he left you with a smile?"
Will: "I've never known myself as well as I... know myself when I'm with him."
Chiyoh: "You won't find Hannibal here. There are places on these grounds he cannot safely go. Bad memories."
Will: "What do these grounds hold for you?"
Chiyoh: "Hannibal wanted to kill that man for what he did to Mischa. I wouldn't let him take his life, so Hannibal left his life with me."
Will: "He was... curious... if you would kill. I imagine he still is."
Jack: "Belief comes with imagination. We also imagine the possibility that we all... live on after death. Will Graham died. He was dead. I was dead. We didn't imagine that."
Pazzi: "What does Will Graham imagine now?"
Jack: "I borrowed his imagination... and I broke it. I don't know how he managed to piece it back together again."
Pazzi: "People come here to be closer to their god. Isn't that what Will Graham was doing?"
Jack: "Maybe. Will Graham understands Hannibal. He accepts him. Now, who among us doesn't want understanding and acceptance?"
Chiyoh: "You did this. You set him free."
Will: "It was you I wanted to set free."
Chiyoh: "You said Hannibal was curious if I would kill. You were curious too."
Will: "I didn't want this."
Chiyoh: "Yes, you did. You were doing what he does. He'd be proud of you, his nakama."
Will: "Did you know? At some level... you knew. He created a story out of events that only he experienced. All sorrows can be borne if you put them in a story."
Chiyoh: "For Mischa. I'll help you find him. I have no reason to stay here. Not anymore. You saw to that."
scene: Will stages the corpse of Misha's murderer as an insect.
Bedelia: "What your sister made you feel was beyond your conscious ability to control or predict."
Hannibal: "Or negotiate."
Bedelia: "I would suggest what Will Graham makes you feel is not dissimilar. A force of mind and circumstance."
Hannibal: "Love."
Bedelia (deleted line): "Love is a god."
Hannibal: "He pays you a visit or he doesn't."
Bedelia: "Same with forgiveness. And I would argue, the same with betrayal."
Hannibal: "The god Betrayal. Who presupposes the god Forgiveness."
Bedelia: "We can all betray. Sometimes we have no other choice."
Hannibal: "Mischa didn't betray me. She influenced me to betray myself, but I forgave her that influence."
Bedelia: "If past behavior is an indicator of future behavior, there is only one way you will forgive Will Graham."
Hannibal: "I have to eat him."
In the first half of S3, Bedelia spends a lot of time asking Hannibal about his childhood. She intentionally triggers him in order to gradually manipulate him to believe he needs to murder/eat Will to let go of him. She directly tells him that if he forgave his sister by eating her, then he should do the same to Will. This may have been Bedelia's escape plan from the beginning. She knows losing Will will be the end of Hannibal. Hannibal is too astute to miss this obvious manipulation, but at the same time, he is rather vulnerable in that time. He seems almost depressed and passively suicidal to me. SPOILER: He does not fight back when Jack tries to kill him in 3.05, and reacts to Will's failed attack in 3.06 with acceptance and sees it as an act of reciprocity. Hannibal knows, if he doesn't die himself, he will hurt Will.
