I love it. Here's what I like about it and don't like about it/what doesn't work.
Likes/Good things:
-Music
-Sets
-Costumes
-Cinematography
-Phantom's deformity: Was severe enough because in the 1800s, he would have gotten ridiculed and rejected no matter how mild or severe it was.
-Cast: Everyone did well in their roles, including Gerry and Emmy. I think their voices are amazing.
Criticisms/flaws:
-Christine's costumes are a little too immodest at times. She's innocent, gentle, and demure.
-Costumes for the Masquerade scene did not match up with the song lyrics (colors)
-Slave girl costumes show a little too much skin for the time period
What do you think of the 2004 philm, The Phantom of the Opera? Love it? Hate it? I'd love to know either way and why you love it or hate it!
