Dear Vice President Biden,
I don't know if you'll ever read this. I know you are a very busy man. And if you become President, you'll be even busier. But if you do happen to read this, just know that I'm on your side. I'm voting for you. There are quite a few reasons why.
First, you are the only one of the two viable candidates who has compassion, decency, and empathy. These three qualities are things Trump does not have.
Second, I supported Mayor Pete during the Primaries. I trust him. So I'm supporting you because Pete endorsed you.
Third, I like most of your policies except for a couple of them.
I'm aware, sir, that you were once pro-life on the issue of abortion.
I am also Catholic, but I am pro-life.
Your party prides itself on standing up for the little guys, usually. Mr. Vice President, I consider the unborn as part of the marginalized and the oppressed.
There's a way to support women's rights and also protect the lives of innocent, defenseless babies. I am all for women's rights. But abortion rights are not part of womens' rights to me. To me, it is not a valid option. It is the downright murder of innocents.
I would not condemn a struggling mother. Adoption is an option.
I am glad that you go to Mass and pray the Rosary. In fact, I love it when candidates talk about their religion and practice it.
On another note, please don't touch people unless they give you permission. It was heartening to read your statement on Twitter that you will work on changing your behavior. I'm not trying to scold you, sir. That's not my intention. I understand that you are a very physically affectionate man. I'm just looking out for you.
I wish you and Kamala all the best of luck. You will be in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Susana
