Sol turned away, like Canis Major, but Lunis still gave her love to the inhabitants of Mimosa.
The silvery she-wolf Lunis still loved Mimosa. It was thanks to her not everybody turned away after Thireuo's treason.
But sadness weighed heavy on Lunis' heart, and with sadness came new darkness. As the guardians roamed the sky, Lunis' light grew dimmer and dimmer.
She grieved for many: Arae, the beta of her old pack, her killed children, and Sol, who had lost all hope. The more time passed, the deeper her wounds got.
Now there was a young wolf, named Luan. As he took his first look as Lunis, he was filled with love for her, even before his pack told him the moon was their godess. Other than most wolves, Luan believed it without fail. Even his own brothers, Tunay and Jaro, were not as convinced as Luan.
Soon the young wolf started to sing to Lunis. She could not return his love, but the sound gave her new hope, and Luan was fine with adoring his godess from afar, for his admiration ran deeper than anything else.
Lunis, still poisoned from looking onto the darkness, soon became sick and her light faded from the world. She turned red, a bloodmoon right before the moon's eclipse. The wolves saw her light grow weak and even thos that didn't believe the old stories knew the end of all days was upon them. They went to their families to say their good-byes, tell what they never dared to tell and wait for the end together.
But Luan sat on a mountain top and didn't stop singing, even though his brothers pleaded with him. They wanted to return home to their pack, to spent their last days with their loved ones like everybody else - but Luan didn't give up. He sang half a month, only sleeping for a few hours. But the light of Lunis was still fading, all of Luans power wasn't enough. So he stopped to eat and sleep and only sang. Tunay and Jaro stayed by his side and begged him to end his suffering.
"The eclipse is coming, the final, endless darkness. Don't face it weakened!" So they talkes to Luan. But he just looked to the moon, who's light was mirrored in his eyes, and ignored their pleas. Tunay and Jaro waited, silent and desperate, but Luan sang of his love for the moon, for Mimosa, for all live in the new realm.
After this, Lunis gained new hope, and her light grew stronger to the same extent that Luan grew weaker. Tunay and Jaro stared in disbelieve and then joined in. Luan sang, louder and happier, but he couldn't stope for one moment, or Lunis' light flickered. He fought against the eclipse, which was so much stronger than one wolf. But his song saved Lunis, before he died, her song still on his lips.
Lament for the Moon
I see you
close - yet so very far.
I cannot reach you,
but can't shake the power of your spell.
My eyes,
filled with sorrow and pain,
tearfully seek your sight:
So close - but yet so far!
You are
the final sight I see.
My dreams disappear:
So far - but yet! So close...
Luan was dead; but his song had saved Lunis. To thank him, she raised him up into the sky, so he could stand at her side as a star. Tunay and Jaro saw the new star and knew that Luan's sacrifice was neither forgotten nor in vain; the world was saved and he lived among the kings and titans forever. His brothers got the same gift as they died many years later, fathers to a new bloodline. Luan was given the new name Azimut by Lunis, and whenever she stepped into the sky, he was the first star to follow, a loyal beta-wolf. All while she was dancing month after month, a dance from darkness to light, to commemorate what he did for her, so that nobody forgets the power of darkness, nor that there is hope even in the darkest night.
His brothers Tunay and Jaro, who stayed by his side, were made into Zenit and Nadir, never leaving Azimut's side even after death.
So it came that the line of Azimut was the twelvth line of kings, after the children of Sol and Lunis and the three atchers Sirius, Arktur and Canopus, and the heirs of Luan are still bigger today, but their eyes aren't red but silver like the rays of Lunis. And the three brothers are still in the sky, showing all wolves the right path, the Eridanus.
One day, even before his brothers joined him, Azimut went to Lunis and asked her for one wish, to help someone he hold dear. For there was one wolf who taught Luan about Lunis and Sol. This one had lost hope a long time ago, but it were his wise words that made Luan sing.
This wolf was none other than Thireuo, who had regained faith and spread it. When Lunis and Sol heard about his wise council, they were tuched. But they didn't forget the treason, and for a long time they didn't know how to react to Azimut's wish.
Finally, Sol returned into his disguise as Beteigeuze and went to talk to Thireuo. He surprised him. Thireuo didn't give up his believe into Sol and Lunis, he only lost hope that the darkness could still be beaten. He knew of the mistake he made, and carried this burden to this day, certain he had robbed the wolves of Sol's mercy for all time. He even thought the ecplise Azimut had fought was his fault. But he had still talked about the star songs and sparked many new believers among the wolves, so that Sol saw much more light in the darkness of Mimosa.
Then, Sol showed his true self in all his glory, much too much for a single wolf. Thireuo called out in pain, while realizing how close he had been to the truth all this time, and he was blind in an instant. But in the same moment, the power of darkness was burnt out of his soul, the hopelessness that couldn't have been destroyed otherwise. Like this, Sol decided, Thireuo was worthy to join the stars in the sky and lead the thirteenth bloodline of wolves.
Sol named him Orion. Later, his old pack would join him, all getting new names as well. Tariq became Rigel, Stella Bellatrix, Ylika and Ylli became Alnilam and Alnitak, Sitarah became Hatysa, the twins Izar and Izarra became Tabit and Thabit, Nyota Meissa, and Zvezdan Khad. Shihab was named Saiph and even the fox Beteigeuze would join them from time to time, even though it was a disguise.
To this day there are the lines of the Nine (which are only eigth bloodlines), and the three warriors, that are all big and have red eyes; and then there are the bloodlines of Azimut and Orion, a bit smaller, but still bigger than other wolves, with eyes of silver Moonlight and blind gold.
Thus, there were thirteen bloodlines, and thirteen titans were before. At this time, Lupus came down to Lunis and Sol to reveal a secret: There would be one more bloodline of star-wolves, like there was Lupus next to the titans, a line of much strenght and power. This heritage lies hidden in the hearts of wolves, both star-wolf and Kanonikos, and would become visible in due time.
This will be Shimmerstar, and he will come in a time of fire, when fever-star brings darkness in his shadow and the stars fall and the end of Mimosa will be near.
