Everything went abruptly silent. Sounds of the monsters wrestling stopped.
'Shit.' Rat thought.
'They heard me!'.
A few seconds passed and now he could hear the creatures sniffing. They're going to follow his scent. Of course some fresh human boy meat is more important than whatever was going on between them.
The boy is frozen in fear. There is no way out.
He looks around frantically, eyes searching frantically for something. Anything.
It's no use. Only rubble surrounding him.
The only thing separating him from a violent end is a decaying concrete wall, and Rat already witnessed the effectiveness of those against the monsters' brute force.
The brutish snarling behemoths are closings the gap. Their pace surprisingly slow, their steps freakishly quiet. They went from berserk-wrestling mode to full on predator mode.
From a distance Rat wasn't able to determine exactly how big they were, but as they closed in on the other side of the wall that sheltered him, the shadows of their monstrous heads, necks and shoulders started to fall over Rat, until eventually the shade of their muscly torsos loomed on front of Rat.
'They must be more than three meter tall.' Rat choked a little. A step forward and they will be able to just look down and see him.
The shadow stopped moving. The creature that cast it sniffing for a moment and then makes a blood curdling guttural noise. It's volume low, but just as foreboding.
It was then that the other creature answered.
A sharp shiver climbed up Rat's spine as he looked to the side.
The head of the other monster peeked from the side of the wall.
He couldn't help but breath in sharply at the sight.
The head turned sharply to him.
Bloodshot glowing yellow eyes stared at him as the creature growled.
