Reverend (preaching about homosexuality being wrong): "Someone has to speak for God."
Cas: "And who says you speak for God? You're wrong. I am utterly indifferent to sexual orientation. (...) And he who lies in my name shall choke on his own false tongue, and his poisonous words shall betray him." 7.01
The first human Castiel ever killed was a reverend who insisted that same-sex-love was a sin.
Cas: "Stop. What's the point if you don't mean it? You fear me. Not love, not respect, just fear."
Dean: "Cas, come on, this isn't you."
Cas: "The Castiel you knew is gone."
Dean: "Cas, come on, this is nuts! You can turn this around, please!"
Cas: "I hope for your sake this is the last you see me." 7.01
"I didn't want to kill you, but now... You've erased any nostalgia I had for you, Dean." Cas to Dean 7.01
Cas: "Dean? I feel regret, about you and what I did. If there was time, if I was strong enough, I'd... I just wanted to make amends before I die. Is it working?"
Dean: "Does it make you feel better?"
Cas: "No. You?"
Dean: "Not a bit." 7.01
"I'm sorry, Dean." Cas 7.01
Cas: "I'll find some way to redeem myself to you. I mean it, Dean. (...) You need to run now! I-I can't hold them back! They held on inside me. Dean, they're so strong. I can't fight them. Run!"
Dean: "Cas?"
Leviathan!Cas: "Cas is... he's gone. He's dead." 7.01
Cas walks into the lake: https://youtu.be/FINnUtzidsA
Dean: "I'm fine. Really."
Bobby: "Of course. Yeah. You just lost the best friend you ever had." 7.02
Dean: "Hunters are never kids. I never was. I didn't even stop to think about it."
Jo: "It's not your fault. It wasn't on you."
Dean: "No, but I didn't want to do it alone. Who does? No, the right thing would have been to send your ass back home to your mom."
Jo: "Like to have seen you try. They were right about one thing."
Dean: "What, your massive crush on me?"
Jo smiles: "Shut up. You carry all kinds of crap you don't have to, Dean. It kinda gets clearer when you're dead."
Dean: "Well, in that case, you should be able to see that I am 90%... crap. I get rid of that, what then?"
Jo: "You really want to die not knowing?"
Dean: "Yeah." 7.04
"Never ended well for the siblings. The strain of working together, or maybe just being around each other all their lives. Those two were the exception, actually – the Campbells. Got along famously. Of course, that was just a stage name. They weren't actually brothers. That was a cover for their, um... alternative lifestyle." museum guide to Dean 7.07
Cas returns with no memory: https://youtu.be/UezMCoXtx2g
Dean's face in that scene is like: I'm so in love with you and you were gone and I wanted to die and now you're back but you don't remember me and also you love someone else. He's physically pained and dying inside.
While Cas is like: My wife is right here but I can't hear what she's saying, because I know those eyes and I've seen you in my dreams and I feel the tug of your soul at the very center of me. I'm convinced that Cas felt his heart tug when he saw Dean, because he's still an angel and even though he doesn't remember who he is, he can't escape that profound bond. That's why he was so quick to leave his new wife and go off with Dean, a complete stranger at the time. https://www.pinterest.de/pin/313211349078035039/
Dean: "So, Daphne... Is that, uh, your wife?"
Emmanuel!Cas: "She found me and cared for me."
Dean: "Meaning?"
Emmanuel!Cas: "Oh, it's a... strange story. You may not like it."
Dean: "Believe me, I will."
Emmanuel!Cas: "A few months ago, she was hiking by the river, and I wandered into her path, drenched and confused, and... unclothed. I had no memory."
Dean: "Must be weird not knowing who you are. What if you were some kind of... I don't know... bad guy?"
Emmanuel!Cas: "Oh, I... don't feel like a bad person." (...)
Emmanuel!Cas: "He betrayed you. He was your friend?"
Dean: "Yeah, well, he's gone."
Emmanuel!Cas: "Did you kill him? I sense that you kill a lot of people."
Dean: "Honestly, I-I-I don't know if he is dead. I just know that this... whole thing couldn't be messier. You know, I used to be able to just shake this stuff off. You know, whatever it was. It might take me some time, but... I always could. What Cas did... I just can't – I don't know why."
Emmanuel!Cas: "Well, it doesn't matter why."
Dean: "Of course it matters."
Emmanuel!Cas: "No. You're not a machine, Dean. You're human. Your friend's name was Cas? That's an odd name." 7.17
Meg: "I know you're enjoying the double dip with your old pal, but..."
Dean: "You think it's that cut and dry? Really? You know what he did. And you want to tell him and just hope that he takes it in stride? He could snap. He could... disappear. Who knows?"
Emmanuel!Cas: "I gather we know each other. You can tell me. I'll be fine."
Dean: "How do you know? You just met yourself. I've known you for years."
Meg: "You're an angel."
Emmanuel!Cas: "I'm sorry? Is that a flirtation?"
Meg: "No, it's a species. A very powerful one."
Dean: "She's not lying. Okay? That's why you heal people. You don't eat. I'm sure there's more."
Emmanuel!Cas: "Why wouldn't you tell me? Being an angel... it sounds pleasant."
Dean: "It's not, trust me. It's bloody, it's corrupt. It's not pleasant."
Meg: "He would know. You used to fight together. Bestest friends, actually."
Emmanuel!Cas: "We're... friends? Am I Cas? I-I had no idea. I don't remember you. I'm sorry."
Dean: "It's in there, I'm sure."
Meg: "Look. You got the juice. You can smite every demon in that lot."
Emmanuel!Cas: "But I don't remember how."
Dean: "It's just like riding a bike."
Emmanuel!Cas: "I don't know how to do that, either." [pause] "All right, I'll try."
Dean: "This ain't gonna go well."
Meg: "I don't know. I believe in the little tree topper." 7.17
Dean: "Cas?"
Cas: "I remember you. I remember everything. What I did. What I became. Why didn't you tell me?" 7.17
(Dean: "So why don't you just tell him you remember?" Bobby's wife: "Oh, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you've never been in love.")
When Castiel got all of his memories back almost every single one he focused on was about Dean. He just remembered that he was an angel. This creature is thousands of years old. He watched humans develop from cavemen to what we are now. He's seen things that would make our jaws drop, and the first memory he gets back is Dean.
Dean: "If you remember, then you know you did the best you could at the time."
Cas: "Don't defend me. We didn't part friends, Dean. I deserved to die. Now, I can't possibly fix it... So why did I even walk out of that river?"
Dean: "Maybe to fix it." 7.17
"Part of me always believed that you'd come back." Dean to Cas while handing over Castiel's trenchcoat that he kept for months (deleted line 7.17)
"When Castiel first laid a hand on you in hell he was lost!" Hester to Dean 7.21
She sounds so distraught, because even angels who are creatures born to love and sing praises, even angels cannot fathom the depth of the impact Dean has made on Castiel. Even angels cannot imagine how deep his love for Dean goes. These angels who have existed in the glow of God's love for eternities and they still can't understand it. Lost, because Castiel has fallen into a love none of them can ever comprehend. She must think he's gone mad, or that Dean is some incredible corrupting force to have stolen her brother from her. Lost, because she knows and Inias knows and all of heaven knows where Castiel's loyalties lie now and where they'll lie forever. She just doesn't understand, Castiel isn't lost, he's found.
"You find a cause, and you serve it. Give yourself over, and it orders your life. Cause, as in reason to get up in the morning." Meg 7.21
Cas is looking at Dean while she's saying that.
"You know me, always happy to bleed for the Winchesters." Cas to Dean 7.21
Dean: "It's Sam's thing, isn't it? You taking on his, uh, cage-match scars. I'm guessing that's what broke your bank, right?"
Cas: "Well, it took... everything to get me here."
Dean: "What are you talking about, man?"
Cas: "Dean, I know you want different answers."
Dean: "Do you remember what you did?"
Cas holds up the board game Sorry! 7.21
Dean: "Look at you, walkin' and talkin'. That's, that's great, right?"'
Cas (walks over to Dean, stands closely): "Pull my finger."
Dean: "What?"
Cas: "My finger, pull it."
Dean does so. There is a crash, the lights go out and window and light fixture shatter. Cas laughs. 7.21
"Go ask him, he was your boyfriend first." Meg to Dean 7.23
Dean still doesn't deny it.
"Dude, on my car, he showes up naked... covered in bees." Dean about Cas 7.23
Cas: "Well, Dean, I've been thinking. Monkeys are so... clever, and they're sensible. Is it really necessary to test cosmetics on them? I mean, how important is lipstick to you, Dean?"
Dean: "Not very." 7.23
Cas: "I can't help. You understand? I can't. I destroyed... everything, and I will destroy everything again. Can we please just leave it at that?"
Dean: "We can't leave it. So you don't get to make a sandwich. You don't get a damned cat. Nobody cares that you're broken, Cas."
Cas: "You know... we should play Twister." 7.23
Cas: "If we attack Dick and fail, then you and Sam die heroically, correct?"
Dean: "I don't know. I guess."
Cas: "And at best, I die trying to fix my own stupid mistake. (...) I'm not good luck, Dean."
Dean: "Sorry, but I'd rather have you. Cursed or not. And anyway, nut up, all right? We're all cursed. I seem like good luck to you?" [Cas stares at Dean.] "What?"
Cas: "I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I detect a note of forgiveness." 7.23
Dean: "I'm probably gonna die tomorrow, so..."
Cas: "I'll go with you." 7.23
Cas, who doesn't want to fight, who insists that he will ruin everything, who just wants to watch the bees, will forcibly shove Dean out of harms way to try and protect him from Dick.
