In the beginning, the world was dark and silent.
Nothing lived, nothing existed, except darkness. She was and is a mighty being, everywhere, all the time, and always hungry. In this waste without light or land, she devoured even the tiniest flicker.
For again and again lights awoke in the dark, only to die out in an instant. Small flames, each of which could've been a forest fire or a sky full of stars, disappeared in the hour of their birth.
Until there came one light the darkness couldn't devour.
Lupus opened his eyes and he was stronger than the darkness. This great wolf of pure starlight shone bright and strong from the start. His gaze drove the darkness away. She hissed and squirmed against the wolf, but couldn't fight it.
But even a power like Lupus could not last long alone. Just like we do today, the First Wolf needed a pack to keep on fighting. So he lifted his head to call for allies, like we still do today.
Oh, the First Song of the First Wolf! It is said, its sound is still echoing in the universe. If you're really quiet and look up to the sky, you might just catch a fleeting tune. You can find it in the twinkle of stars and in the blood rushing through every living being, even the smallest.
Of course, there was nobody then Lupus could call to his aid. For he was alone in the darkness. But with his song he woke a power inside him, formed it with every verse, and finally gave it life and a name, before he continued with the next source. Today no mind can comprehend how long he sang, and we can't even dream of how powerful his song was. Strong enough it was, that piece and piece sprang from Lupus' soul, growing like a sprouting seed, while the wolf himself didn't lose that part of his. For what he shared, multiplied and soon became part of both him and his creations.
