Dean to Mary: "It's okay, it's okay! He's my friend, alright?" [Don't shoot my immortal boyfriend, mum!] "Hey, Cas."
Cas [yelling]: "Dean!" [grabs Dean and pulls him in snuggling his head]
Dean: "Hey... Okay. Alright."
Cas: "Dean. You're alive..."
Dean: "Yeah."
Cas: "What about the bomb and the Darkness? What happened?"
Dean: "I'll tell you everything."
Mary: "Are you a Hunter?"
Cas: "No, I'm an angel."
Dean: "He's an angel."
Mary: "Come again?"
Dean: "An Angel, with a-a capital A. You know, wings, harp."
Cas: "No, I don't have a harp."
Dean: "This is Castiel. Cas, this is... Mary. Winchester."
Cas: "Your mother." 12.01
Dean: "Cas!"
Mary: "That's your boyfriend?"

Cas to Dean: "You brought your mother?"
Mary: "Hello, Castiel. Yes, he did." [embarrassed look on Dean's face] 12.02
When you try to be cool in front of your crush but your mum wants to come with you.
Dean: „Cas, hey. So, here's the thing. It's been kind of weird... you know. It's like we don't know how to act around each other, so we just kind of make this small talk and act normal, but it's – it's so not normal. (...) I'm – I don't know what to say, you know? It – it's – it's like it's all just too much."
Cas: "Don't make things needlessly complicated as you humans tend to do." 12.02
"Morning, sunshine. Want some coffee?" Dean to Castiel 12.03
Dean was just so comfortable calling Cas sunshine that it wasn't even really sarcastic, he has been using that nickname so long that it has lost all of its playful bite and is now something Castiel just is. Cas is just Dean's sunshine. Cas didn't take this literally, Sam didn't laugh or double-take. They're used to it.
They subtitled "sunshine" to: princess (Spanish 1), my heart (Spanish 2), love (Portuguese), my soulmate (Albanian), beautiful (Turkish), angel (French)
Cas: "Well, the only way you'll clear that crowd without drawing fire is if he's otherwise engaged."
Dean: "Engaged in what, Cas? Killing you?"
Sam: "Cas, you'll last three minutes tops."
Cas: "Then I'll buy you three minutes." 12.07
Mary: "Thanks for meeting me. I just wanted to say..." [clears throat] "I'm sorry. I was angry, and... Sam and Dean, that's not your fault."
Cas: "No, you were right. I should never have left them. I... Have you heard anything?"
Mary: "All my law enforcement contacts are retired, or... dead." [sighs] "I'm trying, but... You?" [Cas shakes his head] "I keep telling myself they're fine. They've only been gone -"
Cas: "Six weeks, two days, and ten hours."
Mary: "We'll find them, Castiel. We will. Until then, we just... We're doin' our best."
Cas: "Are we? Did you hear about the murders in Lancaster, Missouri? The women with their throats ripped out, the blood drained? I saw it on the news and I thought, that's the sort of thing Sam and Dean would investigate. They would roll into town, save the day, kill the monsters. But with them gone... I tried to work the case. I tried." [bitter little laugh] "But... I don't know what I did wrong. I... I asked questions, but maybe they were the wrong people, or the wrong questions, and I just - I never found it. Never found the monster. Never even got close. And three more women died before I left town. Before I ran away."
Mary: "So we go back. You and me."
Cas: "No. No, I'd only get in your way." 12.09
Cas [on phone]: "Dean?"
Dean: "Hey buddy, long time..."
Cas: "What... What happened? Wh- where are you?"
Dean: "You wouldn't believe me, and I have no clue. Uh... Okay, looks like we're in Colorado."
Sam: "In Rocky Mountain National Park. Uh, if we head north we should hit State Route 34. Eventually."
Dean [to Cas]: "Did you get that?"
Cas: "Yes."
Dean: "All right, meet us there. Just drive along the road and you'll see us. And, Cas... We're kinda on the clock here." [Dean hangs up]
Cas: "Wait, what does that..."
Sam: "You didn't tell him?"
Dean: "No." 12.09
First thing Dean does once he's out of the prison, is calling Cas.
[Night in the forest. The underbrush rustles and Sam come crashing out to meet Cas, who's standing in a clearing waiting for them.]
Cas: "Sam, Dean!"
Dean: "Cas..."
Sam: "Cas." [Sam stumbles past Dean and grabs Cas into a hug. Then Sam notices Mary and runs over to hug her. Dean steps up to hug Cas.]
Dean: "Hey, buddy." 12.09
Mary drives toward a bridge. Inside the car the GPS screen shows that it's 11:59 pm. Dean, in the back seat with Cas, looks over at him. Mary glances back to smile at Dean. The radio turns on, static crackles, the GPS screen flashes from 11:59 to 12:00, and the car suddenly loses all power and the engine sputters to a halt just as it rolls up to the bridge.
Sam: "It's time."
In the back seat, Dean casts a guilty look at Cas, and the realization dawns on Cas that Dean knows exactly what is happening, and that it will have devastating consequences. Dean knowing he's going to his death decided to spend his last moments sitting besides Cas in the back seat. That look Dean shares with Cas when the radio begins to mess up, like Cas realised something's about to go down and Dean just looks at him guilty.
Dean can't look at him, and turns away. The car continues to roll out onto the bridge and finally stops. The doors open, and everyone gets out.
Mary: "What's happening?"
Billie: "Yeah, Dean. 'Sup."
Billie the reaper is standing on the bridge in front of the car with her arms crossed. Sam and Dean look resigned. Mary approaches Billie, followed by Cas.
Cas: "The reaper?"
Dean: "That place... there was only one way we were getting out of there, and that wasn't breathing." [Cas understands everything now, and turns his horrified look from Dean to Billie.] "So I made a call."
Sam: "And we made a deal. We'd get to die and come back one more time, but in exchange..."
Billie: "Come midnight, a Winchester goes bye-bye. Like, permanently. And that is something I've been looking forward to for a long time."
Dean: "We were already dead. Being locked in that cell with nothing... I've been to Hell. This was worse."
Sam: "At least this way, one of us gets to keep fighting."
Cas: "You don't have to do this!"
Billie: "Yeah, they do. We made a pact, bound in blood. You break that, there's consequences on a cosmic scale. So, who's it gonna be?"
Sam and Dean look at each other. (...) Suddenly an angel blade pierces through Billie's chest from behind, and she falls down dead, revealing Cas behind her.
Dean [shocked]: "Cas, what have you done?"
Cas: "What had to be done. You know this world - this sad, doomed little world - it needs you. It needs every last Winchester it can get, and I will not let you die. I won't let any of you die. And I won't let you sacrifice yourself. You mean too much to me. To everything. Yeah, you made a deal. You made a stupid deal, and I broke it. You're welcome." 12.09
Sam: "You talk to Cas yet?"
Dean: "No."
Sam: "So, what, you're just gonna keep walking past each other in the kitchen, not saying a word?"
Dean: "Maybe."
Sam: "Look, yes, Cas killed Billie, but he saved us. He saved Mom. How long are you gonna stay pissed?"
Dean: "I'm not pissed that he cares about us, you know. I'm – I'm grateful. But Billie said there would be cosmic consequences if that deal got broken. You have any idea what that means!" 12.10
Cas: "This is personal."
Dean: "Meaning what?"
Cas: "Another angel. An old friend. He called out for help."
Dean: "Oh. Good old reliable angel radio."
Cas: "He was begging for help and then he just stopped. I need to know if he's still alive."
Sam: "Yeah, all right. Well... we'll come with you."
Cas: "Both of you?" (Cas looks at Dean)
Dean: "Sure. Yeah, we could help. Gotta make sure you don't do anything else stupid." 12.10
Sam: "All right. Guys, you know what? This – this silent treatment thing, it's silly. It's not gonna work."
Cas [sighs]: "What do you wanna know?"
Dean: "Oh, he speaks."
Sam: "Enough. Cas, you said when you heard Benjamin, he – he was screaming."
Cas: "It was, um... Look, Benjamin wouldn't call for help lightly. And he wouldn't put himself in harm's way if he could help it."
Dean: "Wow, this Benjamin seems like he's pretty cool, you know. Like he wouldn't make any half-cocked, knee-jerk choices."
Cas: "Yeah, you know what I like about him? Is that he's sarcastic, but he's thoughtful and appreciative, too."
Dean: "Now what is that supposed to mean?"
Sam: "Okay, okay, the road, road! Dude, watch the road."
Dean: "I got it."
Sam: "Anything else, Cas?"
Cas: "Benjamin is always very careful. Long ago, he found a powerfully devout vessel in Madrid, and her faith, it... she gave him everything – her trust and her body."
Dean: "Wait. So Benjamin's a woman."
Cas: "Benjamin is an angel. His vessel is a woman. But it – it's – it's more than that. She's not just his vessel."
Sam: "She's... She's his... friend."
Cas: "Yeah. Benjamin would never put her in unnecessary danger." 12.10
Cas: "You wait here."
Dean: "Whoa, wait. Excuse me?"
Cas: "Ishim said to come alone. He doesn't like humans. If I plan to do anything else stupid, I'll let you know." 12.10
Sam: "And you're gonna storm in right... now."
Cas: "Dean."
Dean: "Feel a little left out over there. Scoot over." [squeezes into the booth with Cas] Dean spent all of season 4 telling Cas to remember 'personal space' but now he almost sits on top of Cas.
Ishim: "I said to come alone."
Cas: "These are my friends – my friends who don't listen very well." (...)
Ishim: "You know, when I knew Castiel, he was a soldier. He was a warrior. He was an angel's angel. Now look how far he's fallen. No wings, no home. Just a ratty old coat."
Dean: "Oh well, you can go to hell."
Cas: "Dean! It's fine."
Sam: "No. No, it's not." (...)
Dean: "Why do you let him talk to you like that?"
Cas: "If Ishim can help me find whoever killed Benjamin, then I have to."
Dean: "Okay, yeah, look, I-I get that we need super dick there, but, I mean, come on." 12.10
