Dean: "Cas? Hey. You okay?"
Cas: "Yeah, I'm fine." (...)
Ishim to Dean: "You're back. So what's new?" (...) "Who are you gonna believe? Your brother, or some filthy ape who's always talking down to you, always mocking you."
Dean: "You know, Cas and I might not agree all the time, but at least he knows who his real friends are."
Cas: "Why do his words bother you so much, Ishim?"
Ishim: "Who is he to question my choices? Who is he to question yours?"
Cas: "Well, it seems that some of my choices may need to be questioned." (...)
Ishim beating up Cas: "I used to envy you, Castiel. You believe that?" [Ishim punches Cas. Dean cuts his palm with an angel blade.] "You survived Hell. You were chosen by God. But now look at you. You're just sad and pathetically weak." [Ishim punches Cas who falls to the floor and stops moving.] "So now I'm gonna help you. I'm gonna cure you of your human weakness same way I cured my own... by cutting it out." [Ishim walks toward Dean who's hand hovers over the blasting-angels-away-sigil.]
Dean: "Don't move."
Ishim: "Do it. You blast me away, you'll blast away every angel in the room. I'll survive. Castiel on the other hand, he's hurt. He might live or he might just end up a bloody smear on the wall. Roll the dice." [Dean backs off] "Yeah. That's what I thought." 12.10
Dean doesn't touch the blood sigil and is ready to sacrifice his life so as not to endanger Castiel.

Dean [hands Cas a beer]: "You earned it."
Cas: "Well, this will do very little for me, but I-I appreciate the gesture."
Dean: "What Ishim said... You're not weak, Cas. You know that, right?"
Sam: "I mean, obviously, you've changed, but it's all been for the better, man."
Dean: "And you have been with us every step of this long, crazy thrill ride. And no matter how crazy it got, you never backed down."
Sam: "And that takes real strength."
Cas: "Thank you."
Dean: "Cas, I don't like how the whole Billie thing went down. Okay? I know you think you were doing the right thing. And I'm not mad. I'm worried. Because things like cosmic consequences have a habit of biting us in the ass."
Cas: "I know they do. But I don't regret what I did, even if it costs me my life."
Sam: "Don't say that, man."
Dean: "So what are you gonna do if you find Kelly and, uh, Lucifer Junior? It is a Nephilim, right?"
Cas: "Oh, no. It's more than that. An ordinary Nephilim is one of the most dangerous beings in all of creation. But one that's fathered by an archangel, the Devil himself? I... I can't imagine the power."
Sam: "But, Cas, at the end of the day, it's a mom and her kid. I mean, do you – do you think you'll be able to..."
Cas: "There was a time when I wouldn't have hesitated. But now, I don't know."
Dean: "What are we gonna do?"
Cas: "Let's drink, and hope we can find a better way." 12.10

Dean: "No. No, you just need some time, okay? You'll heal up the old fashioned way." (...)
Crowley: "The Lance of Michael kills everything it touches. If you're a demon, you go up in a puff of smoke. If you're an angel, you just... rot away. Sorry, Castiel."
Dean: "No. No. There's a cure. There's always a cure, and we will find it."
Crowley: "How?"
Sam: "We trap Ramiel."
Dean: "And we beat his ass until he gives it up."
Crowley: "It's not gonna work."
Sam: "We took down the Darkness, and the Devil."
Crowley: "It took you years to defeat Lucifer, and the power of God to stop the Darkness. Maybe if you had more time, you could manage Ramiel. But right now, in this barn... Hey, I was growing fond of the choir boy, too."
Dean: "Shut up. Shut up. We don't have time, okay, for your– for you. So either help us or get the hell out of here!" [Crowley disappears] "Yeah, figures." (...)
Dean: "Cas, how bad is it?"
[Cas groans and writhes in pain, pulling aside his collar to show the damage from his wound spreading across his chest.] Cas: "Crowley's right. You should go."
Dean: "Cas, come on."
Cas: "No, you listen to me. You– Look, thank you. Thank you. Knowing you, it... it's been the best part of my life. And the things that... the things we've shared together, they have changed me. You're my family. I love you. I love all of you. Just please... please, don't make my last moments be spent watching you die. Just run. Save yourselves. And I will hold Ramiel off as long as I can."
Dean: "Cas, no."
Cas: "Yes. You need to keep fighting."
Sam: "We are fighting. We're fighting for you, Cas."
Dean: "And like you said, you're family. And we don't leave family behind." [Cas cries softly] "We hit him with everything we got." 12.12

After Cas was healed the brothers helped him up. Cas was holding Sam's hand too, but with Dean it was very much a lingering touch. He let go of Sam's hand very quick, but he held Dean's hand for like an extra five seconds, and that doesn't seem long but it's longer than you'd think. The way Dean looks at Cas, he is the most obvious person ever, and Cas just masters the poker face while just lingering to touch Dean's hand as long as he can. 12.12
"Cas almost died!" Dean to Mary 12.14
Dean [on phone]: "Cas, it's me. I've been trying to get ahold of you for days..."
Sam: "Let's find him."
Dean: "I've been trying, Sam. The GPS on his phone is turned off and there's nothing in the system about some weird guy in a trenchcoat geting arrested or turning up dead."
Dean in full panic mode, because Cas doesn't answer his calls.
Cas: "I'm sorry, Dean. Um... I just wanted to return this." [hands Dean a mixtape cassette]
Dean: "It's a gift. You keep those." [Cas wants to go but Dean stops him.] "Cas, you can't – With everything that's going on, you can't just go dark like that. We didn't know what happened to you. We were worried. That's not okay."
Cas: "I didn't mean to add to your distress. I – Dean, I just keep failing. Again and again. When you were taken, I searched for months and I couldn't find you. And then Kelly escaped on my watch, and I couldn't find her. And I just wanted, I needed to come back here with a win for you. For myself."
Dean: "You think you're the only one rolling snake eyes here? Me and Sam, we had her. We had Kelly and we lost her."
Castiel: "And if you find her again?"
Dean: "Sam's working on it. Of course, he's hell-bent on finding something that doesn't mean killing her or her kid."
Castiel: "Right. And if he doesn't find something? If you run out of time, could either of you kill an innocent?"
Dean: "We will find a better way."
Cas: "You mean, we?"
Dean: "Yes, dumbass. We. You and me ... and Sam, we're just better together. So now that you're back, let's go, Team Free Will."
Cas: "I'd like that."
Dean: "Great." 12.19
Dean to Sam: "I'll get Cas."
Dean knocks on Castiel's door.
Dean: "Cas? Yo, Cas?"
Switch clicks, door thuds – Castiel is gone. 12.19
Sam: "How did Cas even get the Colt out of the safe in the first place?" [Dean drops his head. Sam raises an eyebrow] "Dean, you – you put the Colt back in the safe, right? Dean?"
Dean: "It was under my pillow. It – I like to keep it close." [sighs] "He came into my room and he played me." 12.19
Dean [on door]: "Yeah, that's mine." [pushes Cas against a wall] "What the hell are you thinking, huh?"
Sam: "Dean?"
Dean: "What?!"
Sam: "Dean!"
Dean [lets go of Cas]: "Kelly?"
Cas: "How did you find us?"
Dean: "Well, while you were scamming me for the Colt, Sam put a tracking app on your phone."
Sam: "Cas, when you came back, you didn't even look us in the eye. You wanna explain what's going on here?" (...)
Sam: "Then – Then why didn't you call us? Cas, we could've helped you."
Cas: "I know. I wanted to keep you out of this. I-I was trying to keep you safe."
Dean: "You're not our babysitter, Cas, okay? That is not your job. And when in our whole lives have we ever been safe?"
Cas: "This is my responsibility... because it is my plan."
Dean: "Your plan?"
Kelly: "He's taking me to Heaven."
Dean: "You – You're taking her to the sandbox?"
Cas: "Yes. I'm ending this, once and for all. Kelly and her baby have to die."
Sam: "No, they don't. Listen, we found another way."
Dean: "And you would know that if you would answer your phone." 12.19
Dean: "Your truck is broke down. Why don't we get in the Impala, we'll head back to the bunker, and we'll talk? We'll figure it out."
Castiel: "Okay, we'll talk."
Dean: "Great."
Sam: "Great."
Dean: "It's like herding cats."
Sam: "Yeah. Okay, so what? We – we go back to the bunker and we just try to convince him to stay there forever?"
Cas [at the Impala]: "Dean!" [gestures at door] "Locked!"
Dean tosses Castiel the keys. 12.19
Dean is working on Castiel's truck.
Sam: "How did this happen?"
Dean [scoffs]: "What? The lying? The Heaven plan? Or the fact that I'm working on this stupid truck?"
Sam: "No, I mean, what's wrong with Cas?"
Dean: "Well, he hasn't exactly had a banner year. I mean, think about it. Between Lucifer -" [blows air] "- killing Billie, Ramiel, everything's been blowing up in his face. And he's so desperate for a win right now, he can't even see straight." 12.19
Sam: "Cas? What was that?"
Cas: "It was, um... It was me. But it was also -" [looks to pregnant Kelly] Cas [to Dean]: "You're hurt." [heals Dean's broken arm] "Thank you for coming to fight for us."
Dean: "Are you okay?"
Cas: "I am. I've been so lost. I'm not lost anymore. (...) I have faith. We have to go. (...) You have to just trust me."
Dean: "No, no, no, wait. Okay, whatever that thing did to you, we're not just gonna let you walk away."
Sam: "Yeah, that's not gonna happen."
Cas: "Yes, it is." Castiel reaches up, touches Sam on forehead, Sam inhales sharply, falls unconscious. Castiel turns to Dean.
Dean: "Don't." [inhales sharply]
Cas [knocks him out]: "I'm sorry." 12.19
Cas barges through the rift and pushes past them.
Dean: "Cas?"
Sam: "No, come on. Come on!"
Dean: "No! Cas! Cas! Cas!"
Sam: "No, no, no, no, no, no! We gotta go! We gotta go!"
Dean: "Cas!"
Dean tries to stop Cas, but he advances on Lucifer with his blade drawn, while Sam drags Dean back through the rift.
- Sam: "No!" Dean: "We gotta get out!" Sam: "Jess!" 1x01
Dean looks at the fading rift in shock, but then Cas comes back through. The rift flares behind Cas, and an angel blade pierces his chest from behind.
Dean: "No!"
Cas falls to the ground, revealing Lucifer standing behind him, holding the bloody angel blade. (...) Dean looks from the vanished rift over to Cas.
Dean: "No! No. No, no, no, no, no."
Sam sees a glowing, flickering light inside the house, glances at Cas, and then runs toward the house. Dean stands over Cas, then drops to his knees, looking from Cas up to the sky, and then back to Cas' dead body. 12.23
