Ominous silence reigned on the top floor of the house where the nursery and Noemi's room were located.
Jonathan who was taking care of the children for the day walked up the stairs.
Children and silence did not mix. He had learned that early on when Noemi had learned crawling. She had been getting into trouble while still in her nappies.
Now she was a preschooler and she had a little brother.
Silence now was even more ominous than before.
He opened the door to Noemi's room but it was empty.
Jonathan could hear a soft muted giggle from the nursery.
When he opened the door he saw Noemi leaning over her brother.
She jumped back and her whole demeanour screamed ›I didn't do it‹.
He took one look at his son and burst out laughing.
Noemi had drawn a moustache and thick eyebrows on his face.
