I've decided that I need to write about fighting for your fandom and rewriting stories or parts of them to your liking. Why do I feel this is something I need to address? Because a fellow user and Star Wars fan that I follow on Wattpad has been expressing her anger, disappointment, and frustration about Disney's management, disrespect, and mistreatment of the Star Wars franchise. I will not reveal this user's handle because I don't want to put this user in the hot seat. It's painful to get on Wattpad and see in my notifications that this user is frequently ranting on her message board about all the stuff Disney continues to do to further ruin Star Wars. I have undertaken the task of rewriting The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi for those who don't like an overly powerful Rey and what they did to Luke and Han. I informed this user that I'm doing this, but this user expressed that Disney has turned her off to the point that she doesn't really care. This brings me to my point, which is if your fandoms really mean so much to you, fight for them. Rewrite any material that you didn't like to your liking. What Disney has been doing with Star Wars has not affected me as much as it has affected the aforementioned user. And this is because I know that I can rewrite anything Disney has done to my liking. I'm not giving up on Star Wars yet. I probably won't give up on it period. So Star Wars fans, I encourage you to not give up on Star Wars because of what Disney is doing. Fight for Star Wars. Show Disney what Star Wars is all about. Rewrite anything you didn't like that Disney did to Star Wars. When Vesper died at the end of Casino Royale, did I sit around and mope because she died and didn't stay with Bond? No, I wrote an alternate ending to Casino Royale in which she lives and remains in a permanent relationship with Bond. When Christine ended up with Raoul at the end of Phantom, did I sit around and mope because she didn't end up with the Phantom? No, I'm currently writing an alternate ending to Phantom in which she realizes that she loves Erik and goes back to him. If you don't like something in your fandom, change it. Rewrite it.
However, I advise you all to be selective when it comes to rewriting material that you don't like or agree with. You can't and shouldn't change everything.
