I haven't seen it, but I have read a summary of the show and listened to the soundtrack. LND is a travesty that never should have happened. I mean, come on, really, ALW? Raoul, a drunk and neglectful husband and father?! Meg Giry, a prostitute?! Christine cheats on Raoul with Erik the night before she married Raoul?! Erik trying to get Christine back by manipulating her again, but with a child around this time?!!! Meg killing Christine (doesn't matter to me if it seems accidental)?! I could go on about everything that is wrong with this awful show, but I won't. It seems like ALW was trying to give the Eristine phanbase what they wanted (Christine ending up with Erik) but also trying not to anger the 5% minority of the phanbase who ship Raoulstine. Why else would he kill off Christine at the end of the show? There are a lot of phans who can write a better sequel than Love Never Dies.
There's a piece of phan art with a drawing of Erik on it and it says, "Hasn't Erik gone through enough trauma already? Boycott the sequel." Though, I would have written, "Haven't Erik and Christine gone through enough trauma already?" 'Cause Erik isn't the only one who has been through a ton of trauma. Christine has gone through a lot of trauma, too. It's sad and a shame that a good portion of the phanbase only thinks about Erik's pain. They feel bad only for Erik. Christine's pain is pushed aside and very few phans feel bad for what Erik put her through.
The music is amazing, though.
What do you think about Love Never Dies? Love it? Hate it? Why?
