One of my pet peeves is when members of the phandom criticize other phans, particularly Phangirls, for fawning over Erik and/or wanting to be with him. It particularly bothers me when other phans point out to Team Erik phangirls that they're basically fawning over and/or wanting to date a living corpse. The reason this bothers me is because it depends on which version of the story and the character they like. It doesn't matter if it's through fanart of Raoul questioning the Phantom phanbase if they would seriously date Erik or any other method of communication. It really bothers me.
My favorite is the Andrew Lloyd Webber version, which is the stage musical and its 2004 film adaptation. I particularly love Gerik (2004 film Phantom played by Gerry Butler).
