One of my biggest pet peeves is when I get comments like, "Sorry, but she's no Vesper," on my Bond x Madeleine fanfics. I love Vesper, too, folks. Plus, that's literally the point: Madeleine isn't supposed to be Vesper. She's not supposed to be Vesper 2.0. Madeleine is Madeleine and Vesper is Vesper. So I think it's unfair to compare Madeleine to Vesper. I think it's unfair and rude to look down your nose at another Bond girl, especially Madeleine, because they're not Vesper. Vesper snobbery annoys me.
It was nice to see James find love again and give it a second chance. That's part of the reason why I also love Madeleine.
Don't get me wrong: I wish with all my heart that Vesper hadn't taken her own life. I wish with all my heart that Vesper could have been with James forever. Those two statements are exactly why I wrote an alternate ending to Casino Royale.
