Crepidomanes intricatum, Synonym Trichomanes intricatum, im englischen Sprachraum auch als Schussfarn bekannt. Ist eine Art der Hautfarngewächse oder auch Schleierfarne (Hymenophyllaceae). Der Farn ist ungewöhnlich dünn und wächst in Felsunterständen und Spalten im Osten der Vereinigten Staaten. Von diesem Farn ist nur sein filamentöser Gametophyt bekannt, eine Sporophytengeneration scheint vollständig zu fehlen.
Eine Studie hat eine Verwandtschaft zwischen dieser Art und einer asiatischen Filmfarnart namens Crepidomanes schmidianum, festgestellt. Wie nahe miteinander verwandt die beiden Arten wirklich sind, konnte nicht ermittelt werden, doch sie besitzen das exakt gleiche Chloroplastengenom.
Eine faszinierende Art, über die es sicher noch mehr zu erfahren gibt, damit das gelingt, müssen wir die Welt retten!
