Die Salanganen (Collocaliini) sind eine Tribus innerhalb der Familie der Segler (Apodidae), wie die meisten Seglerarten benutzen sie Speichel zum Bau ihres Nests. Allerdings sind die Salanganen die Segler, welche dieses Verhalten am deutlichsten ausgeprägt haben.
Die Weißnestsalangane (Aerodramus fuciphagus) baut ihr Nest sogar ausschließlich aus Speichel auf. Während andere Salangane noch teilweise Federn oder anderes Material zuführen.
