Im Dezember 2006 wurde beobachtet, dass Riff-assoziierte, umherziehende Panther-Forellenbarsche (Plectropomus pessuliferus) Riesenmuränen (Gymnothorax javanicus) als Jagdhelfer rekrutieren. Die Aufforderung zur Jagd wird durch Kopfschütteln eingeleitet. Dabei scheuchen die Muräne Beute aus Nischen auf, welche für die Zackenbarsche unzugänglich sind, die Zackenbarsche verhindern ein entkommen der Beute.
